Shopping Ads or Widget Bucks? (or stick with Google Adsense?)
Today, I received an email from Patrick Gavin – the person behind Text-Link-Ads.com and AuctionAds.com.
It’s a private invite about another website that they will launch in the near future. The service is almost similar to Google Adsense where you will get paid for clicks on the ads you’re putting on your website.
If you are in a hurry, here’s the website that you can visit:
The program is done such a way that it does not violate the Google Adsense terms and conditions – which means you can run both Google Adsense and also Shopping Ads.
There are many programs such as this being developed lately but I am not that confident with some of them (due to not enough info of the companies etc) but I can see that Shopping Ads has a brighter future.
Since this is new, there’s no report on how well the ads are performing but the one thing that I like is the way you can customize how your ads can be displayed on your website.
You choose which keywords you would like your ads to be associated with, including the size of ads, font color, background, border and a few others. Then, you just use the code given to you (same as Google Adsense) and you’re all set.
From the announcement made by Patrick Gavin, the commission will be paid by PayPal and I believe it shouldn’t be a lot of problems with all of you.
So, if you are into making money with this type of advertising on your website, Shopping Ads can be another great program to add.
BTw, I’ve also been bombarded with Widget Bucks. Who wouldn’t promote if you’re promised to get get $25 for your own registration and a 10% commissions from the revenue your referrals generate?
Personally, I need to get more info about this company before I put an endorsement on the program. But, if you have some insider’s information, please let me know. Widget Bucks website is at
(Yes, I signed up myself to see how it’ll progress)

Hi Zamri,
The ShoppingAds.com requires a Invitation Code to log in.
May I know how I can get the invitation code?
Thanks a million

Andy,
Please check your email that I just sent you.

after seeing how AuctionAds has failed so miserably, there is no way i’m going to waste any more of my valuable page-views on ShoppingAds.. I also gave WidgetBucks a try and it just did not perform well on my site, but that’s because of my niche, not because there is anything wrong with it.. I know of several webmasters making every good money with Widgetbucks.. if you have a “shopping” website of any kind, you can do real good with Widgetbucks..
Thanks for the valuable info, Randy!
I’m not a big fan of programs like this and after reading your blog post, AA sure upsets a lot of people. Never tried AA and will probably put up Shopping Ads for awhile just to see how it goes.
WidgetBucks seems to have its own problems as well and people are talking about it at DP commenting poor (or no) clickthrus although there’s lots of impressions.
Update:
I’ve been tracking my Shopping Ads on this blog and somehow they do not appear as they did previously. My stats are not showing good results too… so, most likely I will not put up Shopping Ads on my blog anymore…
Hi there,
When I tried to log in, the website asks me for invitation code? Do I get anything special if I enter it? Would you please share it with me if you have one? Thank you very very much.
Kit
I forgot about the activation code but a quick search on google will give you the activation code already. The code is below:
betaluck!

Stay well clear of Shoppingads they will scam your earnings trust me. I had evidence of members purchases bought via click through and no commission was paid. When I enquired through a support ticket it was never answered.
The Shoppingads support is probably the same as the Auctionads was, NON EXISTENT you might as well send the email to a monkey, no change that a monkey might try and at least answer it!!
Alao read the TOS very carefully 10X over because this scammer will wait till you have built up $50-60 and then ban your account with the TOS as the excuse. Again if you contact support NOTHING!!
The more people realise the bad practices of this outfit the better, also I think it would be a good idea to complain to ebay and commision junction about how this PIRATE treats his clients.
