I received this email from Andy today and thought that my readers who are new in Internet business would benefit from it. You can find the questions and answers to Andy’s questions below:
Hi Zamri,
Would you kindly please advise me on the following :
1. Can a Payment Processor be added to a Wordpress blog?
2. How do I do that?
I intend to write an ebook and sell it on my blog.
Payment processor is normally a third party company that handles transactions online. For example, 2Checkout.com, ClickBank.com or PayPal.com and you have to setup the price of your ebook and the download link inside these payment processor websites, which you’ll be given a URL to place on your website.
This is the link that you’ll put on your blog so that when people intend to purchase your ebook and click on that URL, they’ll be taken to the payment processor website which order will be taken. Once the order is fulfilled, your customers will be directed to the download link of your ebook.
In short, yes, you can sell your ebook on your blog this way but most of the time, we create a separate website to sell the ebook (and not write the full-blown direct response sales letter from the blog). That will give you more professional look and people will do business with professional ‘website’ (you).
However, there’s another option that you have - become an affiliate and sell other people’s products. It will remove all the headaches of setting up your own direct response website which requires lots of planning and strategies (such as writing good sales letter, designing the website, hiring e-cover designer, plugging in online payment link and of course, writing you own ebook).

2You can look on the right of this blog and you’ll notice a few affiliate programs that I’m promoting. Some of the affiliate products (with my affiliate links) are also mentioned in my blog posts.
For example, you can see a Success University banner and it links to http://awesome.successuniversity.com/new (which is my affiliate link). So, if anyone joins Success University, I will get commission.
Success University is a paid affiliate program (multi-tiers or widely known as Internet MLM program), but you can also find other affiliate programs that are free to join. Then, use the unique affiliate link given to you after you sign up with that affiliate program and promote it on your blog.
You’ll have to really go through the whole process of joining an affiliate program and promoting it to get a feel of how it goes (and understand it better), and if you need to find affiliate products you want to promote, go to Clickbank.com or PayDotCom.com and apply the affiliate account there.

5The issue with ClickBank has been discussed in Chapter M (including the question you have above). I would suggest you grab a copy of this ebook to know more - http://www.MissingChapter.com

6Andy,
Allow me to answer your question.
1. Can a Payment Processor be added to a Wordpress blog?
Yes, you can do it very easily because WP is a very flexible blog engine. We need a plugin to add a payment processor (paypal) to WordPress.
2. How do I do that?
I use EasyPayPal WordPress Plugin. This is a free plugin. This is a very flexible plugin I think. Look at here: voiceoftech.com/swhitley/?page_id=129
Just study the plugin and you will find how easy it is to add PayPal to your wordpress.
There is another plugin called WPB Paypal, look at here: wpboard.com/plugins/wordpress-membership-plugin/. But this is not a free plugin. You have to buy it for US$22. But in my opinion, you can use the free plugin without hesitation.
You also can use plugins from fastmembershipsites.com which are membership plugins for WordPress. Again, this is not free. You have to pay some money.
Another option is using a free plugin from affordable-internet-marketing.com called WordPress Membership Plugin.
You know that there are a lot of options. Choose which is suitable for you.
Thanks

7Sorry, the last option is not from affordable-internet-marketing.com, but from butlerblog.com. This plugin is called WP-Members Plugin. Please update the information.
By using membership plugins, you can filter who can download you ebook and you can’t get the download link.

8You could also use a service like Juzaz EasyPay ( http://easypay.juzaz.com ).
Basically, you just need to create an account, put in the product details, and the system does the whole job for you.
Hope that helps!

9I use Paypal buttons. Another idea is to give your ebook away in a Giveaway JV. The goal being to build up a list to market to in the future. This is a superior long term strategy. I’m sure in future you’ll get ideas you wish you had included in your ebook. Then write an ebook version 2.0 and sell it to your list created in the joint venture. GD.

11Ya just go to pay pal and sign up then go to merchant and create the account info you wish to sell, then take the html code and insert it into your page at wp. it creates the button for you with a redirect.
